With the new 917 we wanted to make a ski that excels in pist...and do they...you can be sure about that The skis has unik properties that all ski manufacturers want to achive...but none has managed to...so far...untill now...:)
If anyone...any ski manufacturer claims to have made the first rockerd in pist ski...it´s a lie...cause we´v been there for three seasons now...hands down...!
What we have have achived here is a ski...with a 17 m sidecut...that turns in like a 15 m ski...but under pressure they behave like a 20 m ski or GS ski...so what does this mean...it means that the ski is eager and responsive in the turn initiation but doesnt over turn or break down at extrem edging...traditionaly, one put in a much shorter radius in the front of a ski to achive a ski to be eager in the turn initiation...the problem with those designs are that they colaps early and the turning radius becomes to short at extrem angles...and if you don´t have a shorter radius in the tip they feel sluggish...the 917 is eager yet solid at extrem angels...
The other thing we have achived is a design that is very damp and therfore have loads of grip...this has not only to do with the construction but also with the physical dimension...on this ski we have distributed areas and volumes different compared to conventional skis and therefore have minimized vibrations/resonances in the ski...its like a racing car with super efficient dampers...
All in all...a ski for the very skilld skier...for the serious in pist charger looking for G-forces bending the time room...belive me...there are nothing like these skis out there...
Tune in...turn on...burn out...
