Matti has been skiing longer than he can remember.
His family spent every weekend and holiday on the Caravan Club in a fancy trailer until he moved to chamonix 1984 and stayed on and of for 28 years.

In the 80s, snowboarding was very new in France and Matti became known as the coolest Swede snowboarder and was one of the first snowboarders to make a magazine cover (1986).

He featured in many French films, such as Glissenstein and Hibernate, in the latter there is one sequence where Matti skiis straight ahead down the mountain side (called the wall, in Grands Montets) and the helicopter that flew beside him at 120 km/h could not keep up with him!

Matti is often one step ahead of everyone else, through the years he has engaged himself in all kinds of extreme sports and just before they become really big, he gets interested in something else.

In the summer of 2008, Matti took the record for paddling along the Swedish coast, from Svinesund to Haparanda in 20 days and four hours. He still thinks it's incredibly fun to ski. He lives with his family in Whistler, Canada, since summer 2011.
